講師略歴

1967年生まれ。岐阜大学工学部土木工学科卒業、ペンシルバニア大学大学院地域科学研究科博士課程修了（Ph.D.)。
1996年京都大学経済研究所准教授、1999年カトリック・ルーベン大学CORE客員教授を歴任。その後、2009年～京都大学経済研究所教授、2011年～独立行政法人経済産業研究所ファカルティフェロー、2012年～東京大学空間情報科学研究センター客員教授、2020年～麗沢大学都市不動産科学研究センター客員教授、2023年～統計数理研究所客員教授、現在に至る。
専門は都市経済学や空間経済学と呼ばれる分野で、都市を始めとする経済集積の形成について、そのメカニズムを説明する理論および実証研究を行っている。

【オンライン受講】人口減少下での100年後の日本を考える ～地域、都市、家族のゆくえ～

日本の人口は2008年の1億2,800万人をピークに15年間減り続けており、昨年の日本人の減少は86万人と、都道府県が1つずつ毎年日本から消えていることになる。地方都市は衰退し、人口は大都市へ集中している。しかし、今後は大都市といえども、恒星の終焉のように周囲から人を集めながらも爆縮していくと予測されている。本講演では、100年後のこの国は、地域は、都市は、そして家族はどのような姿になるのか、私たちにいま何ができるのかを考えたい。
